Rocawear
   This hip-hop sportswear company was founded in New York in 1999 by rap star Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, music producer Damon Dash (Roca-A-Fella recording label), and Norton Cher. Ro-cawear began as a men's clothing company but later added women's and two spin-offs: State Property, a workwear and military-inspired label that was formed with rapper Beanie Seigel and Dash, and Team Roc, an athletic-inspired label. In 2004, Rocawear signed a licensing deal with Stride-Rite to revive Pro-Keds sneakers. In 2005, Dash severed his ties with Rocawear and took the State Property and Team Roc lines with him.
